I won a blog giveaway?!

The other day I received an email to say that I had won a blog giveaway. I was completely shocked and overwhelmed because I never win ANYTHING. I won these lovely items from Jordan, thankyou so much!
This is what I won:

Cherry Carmex- this is one of my favourite lip balms (as I mentioned in my 'lip-balm obsession' post a while ago). I needed a new one of these because my other one was running out, and cherry is my favourite flavour of it, so I'm really glad this was included!

Collection 2000 nail vanish
Shade 45, Lemon Soda- this is such a lovely colour, I had been wanting a pastel yellow for a while and this one is perfect! It's so creamy and you only need two coats to make it completely opaque!
Shade 52, shimmy shake- as you may of noticed I have a 'thing' for glitter nail varnish. It's my obsession at the moment, and I completely love this one! I don't have any gold polishes so I am really happy with this! As you can see in the photo, it's really opaque unlike a lot of glitter polishes (the photo was taken after two coats)

Barry M lip-gloss in shade 5- I love this colour so much! It's such a bright, girly colour as you can see from the swatch on my hand. It's not as bright on the lips but it's still well pigmented. Oh, and it smells absolutely DELICIOUS (kind of like bubblegum) I have another Barry M lipgloss but it has more of a toffee scent to it (it's a nude/brown colour) so I was wondering if each shade has a scent to match the colour of it? Let me know if you know if they do!

Miss Sporty clear mascara- I haven't tried anything from Miss Sporty before so I was excited to try this. I think I will use it on my brows to set them in place seeing as my elf one has pretty much run out! I will probably do a review of this one soon so look out for it!

Please check out Jordan's blog- it's really cute and she does great reviews!

Models Own- Disco Mix

I would like to introduce you all to my new favourite nail polish. It's name is Disco Mix.

The other day in Boots I was deciding what to get in order to take advantage of the three for two offer when this little glittery bottle caught my eye. There is was on the brightly lit Models Own shelf twinkling away at me. Immediately I knew it had to be mine.
I've had a bit of an obsession with glittery nails recently, but this one is my favourite out of them all. I love the way It applies to be really opaque with glitter after two coats, and I love how it doesn't chip at all! I took these photos after having it on for three full days without a top coat, and it's safe to say it's still in perfect condition!
I can't wait to try out more models own nail varnishes (especially Ibiza mix) I bought the Indian Ocean beetle juice one aswell, but due to it not photographing very well I probably won't blog about it!

You can buy Disco Mix for £5 (or 2 for £8) on the Boots website

Hello everyone,
I noticed a couple of people had been doing posts on their Pinterest inspiration, so I thought I would do one aswell! I would really recommend getting Pinterest if you don't have it already! In case you were wondering my Pinterest username is Islay Grant, or you can just click on the link in the sidebar to be taken to my page!
Anyway here is some of my favourite images that I pinned onto my hair pinboard

I have massive hair envy over all of these people, but it has definitely given me some inspiration for new hair styles to try out!

Free 30ml Liz Earle- Cleanse and Polish with this month's Red magazine

Hello everyone,
I first saw this on Lola's blog the other day and I thought that because it was such a good freebie I had to let you all know about it aswell! In this month's Red magazine you get a free 30ml Liz Earl Cleanse & Polish and Muslin Cloth! I have the No7 version of it but I am dying to try out the Liz Earl one, so if you have a chance you have to pick it up! The bottle will be really good for traveling, and its a great way to try it out with out spending the full price!
I believe Red is priced around £3.50ish, and for this amout of product (30ml) the price would be around £4.50, so as you can see you are getting a really good freebie!

You can check out Lola's Liz Earl Cleanse & Polish review here

Montagne Jeunesse 'Skin Heroes' review

Hello everyone,
last week I was contacted by the brand Montagne Jeunesse to see if I wanted to do a review of their new 'skin heroes' face masks. I was delighted when they asked me and I said yes immediately! I have tried face masks from them in the past and i was pleased with the results. These masks however are quite different to your average packet face mask, because they come with a mask AND a moisturizer! I think that this is a really good idea because the moisturizer and mask match with what they are are trying to do. For example the 'Dry skin mask' comes with an 'ultra moisturizing mask' and a 'rehydrating skin serum'

Montagne Jeunesse's products are all suitable for vegetarians, and they always look to use natural ingredients, which is great! They have a really wide range of products, and they also do a range for men!

I decided to try out the Break-Out Mask first. It says: "First you'll need to flush out those blocked pores with this mud mask fusion of calming Tea Tree and soothing Canadian Willowhero. Let Witch Hazel's natural powers help calm your skin"
It is really simple to use. You simply apply it to your face after cleansing, and leave it for 15-20 minutes. It is green in colour, and smells of Tea Tree which is calming and refreshing. Tea tree is really good for clearing up spots and acne because of it's bacteria killing benefits.
Because it is a mud mask it is really thick in consistency, and applies really easily. There is a lot of product in each sachet (15g of face mask and 3g of moisturizer) so you can apply it thickly and not have to worry about it being patchy, like some face masks.
Here is what it looked like on (que awful photo!)
As you can see it is really thick in consistency and it completely covered my skin. This photo was taken just after I applied it. After 20 minutes, it dries and goes quite crumbly around your mouth which I didn't like (if you don't talk then this won't happen though!)
It was really easy to wash off, unlike some masks I have tried, and it came off with a muslin cloth and some warm water.

This is the moisturizing cream that it came with. It is a relatively thick cream, without it feeling too heavy on the skin. It smelt exactly the same as the mask (like Tea Tree) it says: "Secondly follow with this super moisturizer of tantalizing Tea Tree and calming Canadian Willowherb. Allow mother nature to work her magic to solve those problem areas" There was enough moisturizer for two applications, and so I used the rest of it when I went to bed.

After using both of these my skin felt much softer and smoother, any redness on the problem areas on my face was greatly reduced.

Montagne Jeunesse can be found in ASDA and on their website they are very reasonably priced at £1.49 each (and postage from their website is only 50p- bargain!). I think these are great as a weekly skin treat, and I can't wait to use more!  I will be doing reviews of the other ones, and I am just about to write up a review of the de-clog nose strips (which I really liked!)
If you have any request for which review you would like to see next, please let me know!

summer lovin'

A few people have been asking for some new nail art posts, so here is one!
I decided to turn my plain peach coloured nails into my favourite nail art design earlier. Here is how it turned out
They are actually really easy to do, if you have a really fine nail brush, a dotting tool, a steady hand and some patience! I got my dotting tool and brushes off of eBay and they were under a pound each.
All you have to do to recreate this look is paint white stripes across four of the nails. Then paint one of your fingers with a mint green colour. I used Rimmel 'Misty Jade' for mine. Then get a light pink/peach I used the same one that I have on the rest of my nails (Accessorize 'Apricot Crush') and with your dotting tool make a couple of dots on your nails. Once that is dry paint some little curved lines with your paintbrush on top. You can use a bright pink/red for this, but make sure it is darker than the other colour. Wait for that to dry too and then paint some little leaves onto it with a darker green. Mine is Barry M 'Spring Green'
Once you are sure it is dry, then finish it all off with a top coat! I used Barry M 'Base and Top Coat'
And that is it finished!

I think this is perfect for spring/summer and I will be rocking this look a lot over the next few months!
