Nixoderm- THE BEST THING EVER.

A couple of weeks ago I was having a conversation on twitter with Terri, Jemma and Victoria about PanOxyl after reading Jemma's post about it. I had been wanting to try it for a while but I had never actually got around to it, and I was slightly put off by hearing from Victoria that it left a scar on her forehead because it's so strong. I had also heard from other people that it was extremely drying- and seeing as my skin can sometimes be quite dry I wasn't sure if it would work for me. Then Terri came along and said that she uses Nixoderm. She has done a blog post about it aswell, which you can read here

If I said to you that this made my skin a million times better it would be an understatement...
This is literally the BEST thing that has happened to my skin in a LONG time.
As you can see it has really pretty packaging... haha this reminds me of a post of shoe polish that my mum used to use when I was younger, lovely. Well you shouldn't judge a book by a cover, and the contents of this 'book' is MAGIC.

As you can see it is a thick white cream inside. It doesn't have a nice smell, but you can't have everything eh! I use a cotton bud a Terri suggested to apply it directly to the area that I need it and I just leave it on overnight. It does sting a bit but this goes away after around 10-15 minutes. It says for delicate skin you can dilute it with pretrolium jelly, so I have been mixing it half and half with Vaseline seeing as it's on my face, which means it doesn't sting as much.
According to Terri, Nixoderm is not sold in the UK, but it's found in shops in more tropical climates like Asia and South America. I've no idea why that is though because it's such a good product! I had to get mine on eBay and It cost around £2! If you're not sure I would honestly recommend it because it's only £2 so you're not losing out on much if you don't like it much! I know they also sell it on Amazon, and there's probably loads of other places across the internet that you can get your hands on it.Before this I was using Grease Lightning by Lush, which is nowhere near as good as this- probably because it's all natural and Nixoderm is just a bunch of chemicals as you can see from the photo above!

If you've given up hope with your skin- then don't despair any longer, buy Nixoderm you won't regret it!

islaay.com and a ramble

This is just a quick post to let you know that as of last night islaay.blogspot.com is now islaay.com
I'm super happy to have bought a domain as it now seems so much more professional and it means that every time I want to type my link I don't have to write the .blogspot each time! (lazy I know, I know)
I was thinking of doing a giveaway when I reached 200 GFC followers and the prize would be that I wold pay for the winner to have a domain instead of the .blogspot for a year. I mentioned it last night during the #bbloggers chat an I got lots of positive feedback saying people thought it would be a really good idea! So the sooner I get to the big 200, the sooner the giveaway will be!
Anyway my exams start tomorrow (AHHHH) so I'm really sorry if you don't see much of me for a few weeks! I have a couple of posts scheduled and I have the photos for around 3 other posts, I just need to find the time to write them (oh and one is a to do with makeup storage, hint hint)
Oh I haven't said yet, but I have a job interview in Lush on Wednesday which I'm really nervous/excited about! If you have any tips please let me know, as I'm quite inexperienced with job interviews!
Anyway I hope you're all okay and I can't wait for my exams to be over so that I can do lots and lots of blogging yayayayay :)
This post hasn't turned out as short as I thought it would be, and I should probably go and do some Religious Studies revision as my exam is TOMORROW, nooooo!
I don't like doing posts without a photo, so here's some flowers...

Empties

These are the products which I have used up in the past few weeks!

Clearasil Ultra overnight lotion- I really liked this, I use it at night after using my moisturizer. It isn't drying at all, in fact it is very moisturizing. You only need a small pea sized amount to cover your t-zone which means the small tube lasts a long time. I'm going to have to pick up another one of these because I loved it that much!

Caudalie hand cream- I think I got this in a Carmine/Glossybox one time. I don't think it was anything special, it was good for in my bag because it was small. It didn't have an exceptionally nice smell and i won't be purchasing the full size

Superdrug exfoliating face mask- I was given this for my birthday last year and completely forgot about it until recently! I really liked using it- it smelt so delicious and really fruity! It was good as a treat for my skin as it was a good exfoliator. I probably wouldn't buy this again because I much prefer the Montagne Jeunesse ones!

Lavera hand cream- I didn't really like this. It has a weird smell to it but it was alright at moisturizing my hands. It's small because I think i got it in a Glossybox or something, so it was good for putting in my bag

Bionova eye wrinkle treatment- I think I got this in a Glossybox aswell, even though it was tiny it lasted ageees! It was really good for using under my eyes at night because it was really moisturizing and thick.

Chapstick flava craze watermelon- I bought this quite a while ago from Tesco. It had a really lovely smell and did a good job at moisturizing my lips. The colour of it inside is red, so it gave a subtle hint of colour to my lips. Oh and the packaging is cute too, which is always a bonus!

Deborah Lippman stripper go go nail varnish removing mitt- I got this in the Christmas Glossybox last year. I used it to try and get some glitter nail varnish off. It didn't work at all! It dried up after trying to get the nail varnish off of my thumb- and it said on the packet that it would last for a whole hand! I was not impressed, especially considering the price they are meant to be! I will not be buying any of them

Lush dream cream- I was given this as a sample from lush a couple of weeks ago. I used it on my arms/legs and it was really moisturizing. It soaked in really quickly aswell! If I didn't have loads of body moisturizers that needed using up I would definitely but the full size of this!

Herbal Essences beautiful ends split ends protection hair mask- I got this half price in Boots a while ago. I use it once a week on the ends of my hair and it helps keep them much softer. The tub is really big and lasts a long time and I have several backups of it stashed away in my drawer!

Revlon photoready foundation- this is one of my favourite foundations, so I was sad when it ran out. Once I have used up some other foundations I will be buying another bottle of it!

Mitchum deodorant- I always use this one, I find it is the best at doing it's job- enough said!

Soap and Glory face soap and clarity- I got this in the big soap and glory set they were selling at Christmas. I use it with my sigma cleansing and polishing tool every evening, and I find that it does a really good job! It has small exfoliating beads in it which do their job without being too rough. It has a pleasant smell to it aswell and I will be buying it again!

Schwarzkopf got 2 be guardian angel heat protection spray- this is a really big bottle so it lasted a long time, it did a good job at protecting my hair when I blow dried/straightend it and it smelt quite nice. I will probably buy this again once I finish my other heat protectants

Garnier deodorant- I didn't really like this but I finished it because it was sat in my room annoying me. I probably won't buy it again

Montagne Jeunesse De-Clog Pores

I have another review for you today. The other day I reviewed the skin heroes break-out face mask, and I said that next I would be doing a review on the deep cleansing nose pore strips- which I was really kindly sent by Montagne Jeunesse so here it is!
This is what the packet looks like. On the back it says "These ultra-deep cleansing nose pore strips contain natural citrus to draw out any deep-rooted impurities for cleaner, less visible pores on and around the nose"

Inside each packet there are three separate packs, each with a separate strip inside. This is really good, because for each one you buy you can have three treatments of the product!
They are really simple to apply, you simply wet your nose and the area around it, peel the strip off the plastic, apply the strip and leave it for 10-15 minutes. Then you simply peel it off your nose and it's done!
When I first applied it it didn't stick very well, and I thought I would have to sit there for 15 minutes holding it onto my nose but after 30 seconds or so it dries and stays in place really well!

Here is what it looks like on:

This is what my skin looked like before/after- you can't really see it in the photo, but in real life there was a really noticeable difference! I didn't think I had especially large pores until I used this!
They don't have a very pleasant smell, but after it is applied you don't really notice it any more.
The only downside to these is that they made my nose quite itchy around 30 minutes after I took it off. This may be because I haven't used nose strips like this but I applied moisturizer and the itchiness went away. They actually made my nose feel really soft and smooth and really reduced the visibleness of my pores on and around my nose

Overall I think this is a great reasonably priced product and can be found in ASDA and on their website they are very reasonably priced at £1.49 for pack of three (and delivery from their website is only 50p, bargain!) Montagne Jeunesse I think these are great as a weekly skin treat, and I can't wait to use more! Montagne Jeunesse always try to use natural ingredients, which is great, as it means that they aren't filled with loads of nasty chemicals, and they have natural things inside which is less harsh on your skin!

If you have any request for which review you would like to see next, please let me know!
